Transparency and traceability
Transparency and traceability are important parts of Tranemo’s work with a responsible supply chain. Through clear requirements, carefully selected suppliers and good control over our materials and production processes, we can follow our products throughout the entire value chain.
The importance of transparency and traceability
Increasing transparency and traceability in the textile industry is crucial for creating a sustainable value chain.
Transparency helps ensure that working conditions at every stage of the supply chain follow ethical guidelines. This means that all employees are of legal working age and work voluntarily, that wages are paid correctly and on time, and that work environments are safe and meet applicable health and safety requirements.
Traceability enables companies to monitor and evaluate the environmental impact of their products. This includes, among other things, being able to track the use of resources such as water and energy, monitor pollutant emissions and ensure compliance with environmental legislation. At the same time, traceability makes it possible to ensure that the origin of raw materials and manufacturing processes follow sustainable methods – from raw material to finished product.
Control throughout the entire supply chain
At Tranemo, we already have full control over our fabrics and where they are produced. We achieve this through so-called nominated materials, which means that we only work with materials that are selected and approved by us. In this way, we ensure quality, sustainability and controlled production. We never send materials to production before they have been approved by our own laboratory in Tranemo, which helps to maintain high standards and clear accountability.
By prioritising transparency and traceability, we can contribute to a more sustainable and ethically responsible textile industry, where both people’s working conditions and the environment are taken into account.
With the new requirements for a Digital Product Passport (DPP), we are also facing new challenges and demands when it comes to traceability. To meet these, Tranemo has recently begun implementing a system that can handle the collection of the necessary data. The system will enable us to track the history of our products in a more precise way.
Our ambition is to gradually start measuring in several different areas and thereby ensure complete traceability and transparency throughout our entire supply chain.
Cooperation with suppliers
At Tranemo, we are convinced that good relationships with our suppliers contribute to smoother cooperation, better business conditions and shared success. That is why we choose to work with a selected group of suppliers, which makes it possible for us to build strong and long-term relationships.
It is important for us to ensure good working conditions at our suppliers, while also giving us the opportunity to work closely together to develop fabrics that are specifically adapted for Tranemo.
Of course, 100% of our suppliers meet the requirements of the REACH Regulation.
Responsible production
When we integrate sustainable development into our operations, our supply chain plays a central role. By developing our own facilities and continuously improving collaboration with our selected suppliers, we can deliver high-quality products while increasing our productivity.
The supply chain
Tranemo works actively to improve the working conditions of the people who work throughout our supply chain. Our supplier agreements have a broad scope and set requirements in areas such as environment, ethics and working conditions.
We own two production facilities in Bulgaria, which enables us to produce large volumes of garments and meet the constantly increasing demand.
In addition to our own production, we cooperate with a small number of carefully selected and qualified partners in Europe and Asia. The majority of our garments are produced in Europe.
