Responsible value chain
Identifying human risks means assessing hazards linked to working conditions, labour law and safety standards at every step, from the extraction of raw materials to the delivery of the finished product.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Tranemo also works actively with working conditions for people who work further down the supply chain. Our supplier agreements are extensive and regulate issues concerning the environment, ethics and working conditions. Through close cooperation with our suppliers, we ensure various parts of our suppliers' operations and stimulate continuous improvement work. We strive for long-term cooperation with suppliers, which is an important aspect of our objectives.
We establish clear, specific requirements and targets for our suppliers based on the following factors:
- Work environment and safety
- Working conditions and opportunities for economic growth
- The right conditions to be able to pay decent wages
- Equality and respect
- Environmentally conscious
ETHICAL GUIDELINES
We strive to maintain a high ethical standard that is in line with our values. There is a clear policy for ethical guidelines, designed on the basis of our own requirements and what our suppliers must live up to. We care about the people who produce our products. Therefore, we require and monitor that our subcontractors follow Tranemo's commitment to run an ethically sustainable business regarding:
Forced labour: All forms of forced labour are prohibited, including penal labour or slave labour. ILO convention no. 29 and 105.
Discrimination: We do not accept any type of discrimination based on race, caste, ethnicity, social origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, religion, nationality, age, gender and/or membership in a trade union or political affiliation. ILO convention no. 100 and 111.
Child labour: We follow internationally recognised agreements regarding human rights and working conditions and do not accept child labour. ILO convention no. 138 and 182. Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 32.
Freedom of association and collective bargaining: We recognise elected employee representatives and respect the rights of employees to organise and negotiate collectively in accordance with the laws of the countries in which they are employed. ILO convention no. 87 and 98.
Compensation and working hours: We guarantee that work is carried out on the basis of an approved employment relationship established in accordance with applicable laws and practices as well as international labour standards. ILO convention no. 1, 26 and 131.
Safety and health: Workers' safety must be prioritised in all situations. The working environment must meet the requirements of applicable occupational safety laws and regulations.
Business ethics: Good business ethics and compliance with applicable laws and regulations are the foundation of good business practice. We strive to promote a high ethical standard in commercial relationships and therefore actively counteract all forms of corruption and bribery. We prohibit gifts and other gratuities in business contacts that may be regarded as bribes.
Environment: We focus on continuous improvements and sustainable development. As a minimum requirement, our suppliers must always follow applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Whistleblowing reporting
Integrity and compliance with laws and regulations is something we place great emphasis on. To detect potential irregularities, Tranemo has a whistleblowing system that enables employees and other stakeholders to safely report serious irregularities and wrongdoing. The whistleblowing system is based on fundamental principles such as protection of the whistleblower and the whistleblower's right to anonymity. Reports received via the whistleblowing system are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
According to national legislation, the whistleblowing process must only be used to report irregularities and misconduct concerning company management and other key individuals.

Sustainable supply chain
Tranemo's greatest environmental impact is in the supply chain. By working with environmental aspects already in the product development phase and throughout the entire value chain – with the help of our Sustainability Eye and our climate actions – we can contribute to a positive impact on the environment.
In 2024, Tranemo decided to join Amfori BSCI. Amfori BSCI, short for Amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative, is a comprehensive system that helps companies improve the social performance of their supply chains and thereby promote ethical and sustainable business practices globally.

Sustainable working environment at Tranemo Bulgaria
Our facility in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, demonstrates our commitment to creating a safe and positive working environment for all our employees. In recent years, extensive renovations have been carried out to improve the working environment. We have improved the insulation and introduced a modern climate control system to maintain optimal temperature and humidity throughout the year, ensuring comfort for our employees in all seasons. In addition, sound-absorbing ceilings and ergonomic workstations contribute to a pleasant atmosphere, while our advanced, safe machines actively reduce the risk of workplace accidents.
Spring 2025 also marked a period of major progress for the facility – both in terms of working conditions and quality, but also in terms of environmental impact. The number of solar panels on the roof was doubled and now covers 100% of the factory's energy consumption during the summer. In addition, a new washing facility was inaugurated, which has proven to be a strategic gain for both quality and sustainability. While the new washing facility gives us full control over a critical part of the production chain, the solar panels enable us to take further steps towards climate neutrality.
People are attracted to us because of our good reputation as a fair and responsible employer.

Sustainability is an integral part of our operations
To improve operational efficiency and workplace organisation, we are implementing the LEAN 5S method at all our facilities. This approach enables us to reduce waste, increase productivity and ensure clean, well-organised and safe workplaces – leading to increased employee satisfaction.
A thriving workforce
We also prioritise the well-being of our employees outside the workplace. To make the daily commute more convenient, we offer a company bus. We understand the importance of work-life balance and therefore offer an extra paid day off on 15 September – an important day for Bulgarian families when the children start school again.
Our transparent pay structure, including a bonus system, ensures that all employees receive fair compensation. We also offer lunch vouchers for those who are interested, and our on-site amenities include access to coffee and cold drinks, as well as clean and comfortable changing rooms and sanitary facilities for the convenience of our employees.
