CERTIFIED PROTECTIVE workwear

All Tranemo protective clothing is certified according to current European PPE standards. This means that you can always feel confident that our products meet the relevant EN standards for workwear as well as the applicable legal requirements.

Certifications that guarantee safety

When it comes to personal protective equipment, certification is a basic prerequisite for safety. At Tranemo, every garment is carefully tested and approved in accordance with the relevant PPE standards. This means that users, purchasers and health and safety managers can trust that the products meet the highest requirements for certified protective clothing.

Our certifications cover a range of different EN standards for workwear, for example EN ISO 20471 for high visibility clothing and EN ISO 11612 for protection against heat and flame. By following these internationally recognised standards, we can guarantee both performance and safety in the environments where the risks are greatest.

On this page you can find a clear overview of our certifications. Here you can read more about what a certification means, view a list of all our certificates and access practical user instructions for protective clothing. Together, this gives you as a customer full transparency and confidence when choosing the right garment for the right environment.

CERTIFICATION OF PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

How it works

All personal protective equipment from Tranemo is CE marked. The CE marking shows that a notified body has type-approved the garments in accordance with the PPE Regulation (EU)2016/425 and the latest European (EN) standards for protective clothing covered by the regulation. The main reason for wearing flame retardant clothing is to prevent it from catching fire and/or limit the spread of flame, so that you have time to react and get yourself to safety if an accident occurs. There are many certifications and standards for different risks, and Tranemo wants to ensure that you choose the right combination for your company.

The PPE Regulation contains 3 categories of protection, where Category III is the category that requires the highest level of protection, for example where there is a risk of injury from arc flash, heat/flame and chemicals. Tranemo's Category III garments are included in a quality monitoring system (Module D according to the PPE Regulation) to ensure that the garments are safe to wear. The garments are marked with CE and the number of the notified body that has issued the EU type-examination certificate. When new protective clothing is developed, there are many different requirements in the EU standards, including requirements relating to the fabric and its protective properties, as well as requirements for other component materials and design. A garment with an incorrect design can, for example, cause molten metal to get stuck in seams or pockets and expose the wearer to unnecessary risks.

When a garment is approved by our notified body, Tranemo receives a certificate on which all standards and classes are noted. The certificates are supplemented with a Declaration of Conformity and published here on the website. The certificates are stored under each product but also in a consolidated list. Once the certificate has been received, the garment is marked on the inside with a CE label showing which standards and classes the garment is approved for. Here you will also find information about any joint certifications, fabric quality and washing instructions.

All certified garments come with one or more user instructions that the user must read before the garment is put into use, in order to ensure that the protective clothing is used correctly and that the right protection is achieved for the workplace. Tranemo also communicates the standard symbols with an emblem on the outside of the garments so that the user can easily see, among other things, the arc rating of the garment.
