WHAT DOES THE
RIS-3279-TOM STANDARD MEAN?
RIS-3279-TOM is a high-visibility standard that applies to railway workers in the UK and Ireland. To certify protective clothing according to RIS-3279-TOM, the garments must achieve at least EN ISO 20471 Class 2 and be fluorescent orange, with stricter requirements for the colour properties of the orange fluorescence than those specified in EN ISO 20471.
The purpose of the standard is to ensure that users are clearly visible in rail environments and it can only be used in combination with EN ISO 20471.
